I usually like to be the centre of attention, but these flowers are too beautiful to be ignored.
Today I am answering some questions which Cee has asked me. I hope you like my answers. (I recommend you pop over to her blog to see what she had to share this week too).
Q1. DO YOU PREFER A BATH OR A SHOWER?
Is this a trick question?
I hate bathing. And I hate showering.
I love swimming in the pond but that is a different question altogether. I wish you had asked me that.
Q2. WHAT DO YOU DO TO MAKE A LIVING DURING THE DAY?
To earn my keep, mostly I work on looking cute.
But I also take my other job very seriously – rat hunting!
Q3. IS THERE A STUFFED ANIMAL IN YOUR BEDROOM?
Nope. There was, but I ate it. There’s only so much cuddliness one household needs.
Q4. WHAT INSPIRED YOU OR WHAT DID YOU APPRECIATE THIS PAST WEEK?
So I might have gone for an unscheduled off-road walk this morning. And on said walk I may have encountered one or two (fairly large) burr bushes.
But dreadlocks are a thing, right?
And this is a travesty!
How am I to face my public looking like this?
I’m sure there is a law against this sort of thing.
Upon reflection it really was worth it though – such a beautiful way to start the day.
HAPPY (second) BIRTHDAY to Tikkie of the Bushveld’s Blog
Happy (second) Birthday to Tikkie of the Bushveld’s Blog!
I’m so happy it’s my Blog’s (second) Birthday
Happy (second) Birthday to My Blog!
Mum has been sick for a long time with a very sore back. This has made her tired and she hasn’t wanted to do much fun stuff until only a few weeks ago, so I haven’t been able to get onto her computer to talk to you all for ages.
She also hasn’t taken me for a nice long walk for too long, and I think I was happier than she was when she told me last week that her back is so much better that she feels like a stroll.
I wanted to show you our shadows. but it was drizzling a tiny bit and she didn’t take her camera with her. So I found this old photo of me on a walk with one of my Silly Sisters.
So many fun (and also not so fun) things have happened since I last wrote to you all and the event that has changed my life the most was the arrival of a new baby sister for me. Her name is Symmi, because the markings on her face are almost symmetrical.
We have a sort of love-hate friendship. Sometimes I think she is a lot of fun. And sometimes I hate her.
Here are some fun pictures of us playing in the late afternoon shadows when we first met.
Cheeky so-and-so, sitting on me like that!
She thinks she has the upper hand.
But I’ll show her who’s boss in this house!
There, I Fixed it. More than a year later, but I fixed it.
SO APPARENTLY WE HAVE LOADSHEDDING
Mum gets cross ’cause she says there’s no electricity for eight hours every day, so she can’t work or Skype her folks or write blogs.
Last night the power went off. I thought it was cool, all that candle wax dripping and moths to chase. And I can see in the dark, so I don’t need electricity at night.
Anyway, Mum downloaded this app. I thought she said nap. What?! We’ve only just got up! But she told me it’s a phone thing, silly. It works even when there’s no electricity and I can be the first to use it to write a blog.
Here’s a picture of me and My Cat. She thought there was a zombie behind the curtain. Luckily I’ve recently joined the Zombie Squad (more about that later) — Private Tikkie the Zombie Slayer is my new name — so I know how to check. There wasn’t a zombie.
OK. Seems this app thing doesn’t work quite like it should. The picture went to the media files on Mum’s own blog. So I’ll have to wait until electricity comes on again if I want to upload that picture (uh oh … Mum’s cross again).
Eight hours later, here’s the picture:
