My bed time rituals don’t vary very much.
First I put my paw on Mum’s arm and nag her “come on, it’s bed time!”. Sometimes she gets cross because my nails scratch her – I try not to let that happen because I hate having my nails cut. It’s so undignified (and unmasculine) for a boy to endure a pedicure!
Then I run to the bedroom to choose my favourite sock. I love socks! Apparently I have a sock fetish.
The other day Mum noticed a strange bump on the side of my nose. She puts some ointment on it every day and now it’s shrinking (the bump, not my nose).
It’s embarrassing to have a yellow stain on the side of my face so I try to run away but she catches me every time.
Then I play with my Cat for a while. She’s not as interested in socks as I am.
And then I go to bed.
Our Boxer has his bedtime routine too. He usually goes to bed with my wife around 9:30 or so. Earlier this week, she was away on business and I was “out of place” in the basement around 11:30 at night. After much grunting, nudging, and sighing at me; he was very satisfied to head up to bed around midnight — where we were SUPPOSED to be by that time.

Midnight!
If Mum stays up that late, I sulk. And take myself to bed (with LOTS of socks 😉 )

Your bed looks sooo comfy. P.S. My Mom asked how to pronounce your name.

I love my bed!
You say it “ticky” (like the old British coin – but I don’t think that’s what you’re asking about 😉 ), then “van” (like the truck), then “duh” (like, um … er … maybe the first part of Dutch) and then “merver”, or “merva”.
So “Tikkie van duh merva”. 🙂
Sometimes Mum calls me The Tickster – that’s kind of cool. And tough.

It’s so nice to meet you, Tikkie! Thanks for following my bloggie. You’re a very cute (or do you prefer handsome? 😉 ) pup, and I share your sock love. My mom ties knots in old socks so I can chew them, and they’re some of my favorite toys. Of course, I still have to steal some from the laundry, because those are the BEST socks. 🙂

The other day Mum tried to trick me like that. She said ‘here’s some socks for you to play with’, or something inane like that. As if playing with LEGAL socks is as much fun!

That IS funny! 😀
Do you also take them outside and hide them in the garden for Mum to look for? 😉
For me, that’s the most fun when it is raining – Mum complains SO much hehe

Nice to meet you Trompie 🙂
New Zealand sounds exotic. Mum says she has family who live there – but none of them own a Schnauzer. I think we will have to work on that, don’t you?

Wow, interesting to know. Here are quite a few Schnauzers. I’ll help to work on them getting one too. We belong to a Schnauzer group on Face Book! Most of them are more in Australia, but very cute and interesting

There’s a South African Schnauzer group too – Schnauzer Friends SA. My favourite group!
